The cooks drill is great for taking contact while making a strong move to the basket.
- Have a teammate, coach, parent or friend hold a punching bag or some other soft object (i.e. pillow)
- Start with the ball at one side of the free throw line
- Take a couple hard dribbles to the rim
- Power up and take a strong layup
- As you go up the person will hit you with the soft object
- Repeat until you make 10 shots
